  2. I thought the blogathon was July 27th - August 3rd? That's what the original post said (and still says). Sorry the banner I put on my site is incorrect. Anyway, I'd like to claim a spot on the 28th. :)

  3. Nate, can I get July 29th, too, if only because I usually post my new Tales of the Easily Distracted blog posts on Fridays? With 8 bloggers per day, I'm sure Page and I will have plenty of room for our fellow July 29th bloggers! :-) Please confirm when you can. Thanks, O Fearless Blogathon Poobah!

  9. Wow, it seems you've succeeded in your aim to get 40 participants, great work Nate!

Sorry I couldn't join in, but I was on hiatus for about a month due to my moving house...
I'll definitely join in the next blogathon though! And I'll be reading the posts in this blogathon of course!

  10. That's all right, Jack! I look forward to your blog getting back up!

  11. I am going away from the 28th thru the 31st and am not sure if I will have wifi (hopefully I will at some point). Hopefully the 28th is available (I can post my piece early that morning before we leave) but if not then either the 1st or 2nd works. You choose (I hate decision making).

Also, my weekly feature post over at Anomalous Material for the week in question is "10 Best 1950's Sci-Fi Films." It will be up and running on their website sometime on the 28th or 29th (in case you wanted to link to such as a sort of sidebar companion piece to the blogathon).

  17. You'll have some competition Stacia!

My Ed Wood can beat up your Ed Wood!

That sounds a lot naughtier than I intended, by the way.

  19. The Horn Section will take Sunday July 31st for THE CRAWLING EYE if not filled up yet. :)

  20. I see there's one slot left on the 29th. I'd like that if possible. If not, then August 1st would be fine.

  21. We of Team Bartilucci and our fellow July 29 Monster Mash Blogathon pals are delighted to be seated together! :-) Yvette, hope you get that July 29 spot, too so we can all hang out together! :-)

By the way, Nate, not to be a nit-picky ol' spell-checker, but I just noticed that in Team B.'s MOTHRA/THE THING... slot, "Another" is spelled "Anther." Just thought you'd want to know; surely it's an easy fix.

  25. Hi, messaged this to you on Twitter but figured I'd better put it here too.

Would like to sign on my site, Immortal Ephemera, for The Mole People.

First choice of date is the open slot on July 28th; 2nd choice July 29th; 3rd choice August 2.

I just hope the title is still available!

    Thanks!

  26. Nate,
Cliff from http://www.things-and-other-stuff.com/ (Immoral Ephemera) sent you a tweet requesting Mole People for the 28th if that date is available. He's a CMBA member with his other site WarrenWilliams.
    Thanks,

  34. Page, something suddenly came up? Wasn't that the plot of a BRADY BUNCH episode? :-) But seriously, we're sorry to hear you won't be participating in the Monster Mash Blogathon. We hope all is well. Catch you next time around!

  35. Have you received my info yet, Nathanael? (it would be from archaeopterxy_wtw at yahoo dot com, under the name of Christianne Benedict. I sent it a few days ago. Check your spam filter.

I'd kind of like the last slot on July 31

  36. Nate,
Sorry that I'm arriving late once again. If there's any chance of getting a 7/29 or 8/1 slot (Movie FanFare, my company's blog, only posts on a M/W/F schedule), I'd like to take a crack at the 1959 Japanese/U.S. double-header THE MANSTER. Our URL is above, and I can be reached at gary@moviesunlimited.com. Thanks.

  38. Have you already reached your limit or can the Secret Sanctum of Captain Video http://captainvideossecretsanctum.blogspot.com join in the fun?
Or do I have to wait until next year? ;-(

    ReplyDelete
  39. OK, Looks like I'm in on Aug 2nd with Phantom Creeps.
    Kool.
    One minor question.
Since it's a 50s film on the basis of its edited feature-film re-release (it was originally released in 1939) I can cover Creeps or a produced-in-1950s flick.
Happy to go either way, just let me know which one you'd feel fits the criteria better.
Sorry about the confusion. It's my first blogathon!

  40. Nathanael,

It came to my attention last week that the movie I chose is the final installment of the Aztec Mummy trilogy. Appropriately, I bought all three. Word on the street is the movie I chose is the best part of said trilogy, so I don't want to switch, but I will definitely be watching all three in order. So: does it make more sense to review just the third movie, or to equally cover all three in my post? I'd have no problem either way, but I sort of envision sticking to a review of the third one, but giving one or two paragraphs of my thoughts on the first two movies as background in the intro of my main review. Does that sound about right?

Let me know what you think is best for your project,
    Jake

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh, and all three were released in the same decade. :-)

  42. August 2, for Curse of the Demon? That work?

  43. Noticed my URL is wrong for The Screamming Skull on Aug 1. it is timbrannan.blogspot.com

    Thanks for pointing that out!

    I fixed it!

  45. Hello everyone! For those that have been watching cheapo 50's monsters with their mouths agape, I'd just like to point out that cheap-o monsters (or "cheapnis" as Frank Zappa put it) are not exclusively the domain of the 1950's. Check out this clip of The Sea Monster, with poor Ray Milland, from 1984. This is a good example of my inconsequential little point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5wMBeYhLWE&feature=related

Even better, The Loch Ness Horror (1981):
