  2. I see by the intriguing list that no one has chosen "The Thing from Another World". May I?

  4. I concur about the banner; it's perfect! Where's that image from? (Also, say hello to Rachael for me!)

  5. Sorry, Caftan Woman, we of Team Bartilucci grabbed THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD long ago (it's one of our faves), along with MOTHRA (one of Vinnie's faves :-)), for a creature double-feature. There's still plenty of fun films to get ahold of, though. Looking forward to seeing yours and everyone else's picks!

  6. Hey, Blogathon Master Nathanael, will we have to choose particular dates to post within the July 27th to August 3rd window of opportunity? If so, when will we know when those dates are? Please keep us posted.

  7. Dorian, I didn't see it up there. Looking forward to your take.

I want to wait a little longer for more people to sign up before we start assigning dates.

  11. I'm back. I've given it some thought. I've looked over the list a couple of times. I don't see it, so...can I have "This Island Earth"? Fingers crossed (so hard to type).

  12. Just curious, what movie is the banner picture from?!
Also I added it to my blog!

  14. Chris

I'm shocked! That's "Robot Monster" one of the most famous Z-grade movies ever made! It was a classic episode of MST3K!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I haven't seen that MST3K episode yet.

  17. Grand Old Movies would like to sign up for the blogathon! We'd like to write on 1959's "The Alligator People" - about gators and humans being spliced together. We sent you an email on it - let us know! thanks.

  22. Caftan Woman, I'm looking forward to your THIS ISLAND EARTH blog post, as does my partner in crime, Vinnie! :-)

  23. Am I allowed to join in? My blog is not STRICTLY a Film Blog but I post about vintage films quite frequently. My film choice would be SON OF FRANKENSTEIN. I don't see it selected on the list. Unfortunately Becky got CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON which is my favorite. And Dorian got THE THING and Caftan Woman got THIS ISLAND EARTH. I didn't spot this blogathon info until today. WHERE HAVE I BEEN?

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't know! But of course you can join! Just send your movie pick, site link, and email address to nahood@ursinus.edu and I'll add you right away!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Just realized that SON OF FRANKENSTEIN is a 1939 movie. So I'll pick something else. Let me see what's what.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Okay, got one. I didn't see it on the list.

I MARRIED A MONSTER FROM OUTER SPACE

    How's that?

  27. It's all yours! Looking forward to your entry!

  28. How many participants now? Will we reach the 50 mark!?! I can't wait for this Blog-A-Thon I think I'm gonna get me a DVD Boxset of monster films at my lunch!!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. We now have 39 participants! Wooooooo!

I'm still trying to get people to join. Maybe we'll overshoot our goal!
