AMAZING NEWS!!!!

Hey everyone!

I've got some incredible news!

I've just been accepted to New York University - Tisch!!!

For those of you who don't know....I want to be a film director. That's one of the reasons why I started this blog.

Well....Tisch is considered by many to be THE BEST film school in the United States.

Past graduates include:

Martin Scorsese

Oliver Stone

The Coen Brothers

I will LITERALLY be following in their footsteps come this fall.

For everyone who has read and supported this blog, thank you!

Thank you for encouraging me and my dreams!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!

I'm sure you'll turn out to be one of the most important directors of this generation!

Such an excellent film school as well!

Thanks, man! You know...I got the news that I was accepted to Tisch the day after I was rejected from my other film school....

    So...I REALLY got lucky!

As for being the greatest director ever.....

I'm keeping it realistic. It's going to be a MASSIVE amount of work. I mean...Scorsese was in the business for YEARS before he hit it big.

But I'm ready and willing to put in all of the blood, sweat, and tears that I have to in order to make my dreams come true!

  5. Congrats, Nate! WOOOHOOO! When your rich and famous, you'll let me come to a preview, right? And your personal chauffeur will drive me around in a limo stocked with girly drinks and silly putty, right?

  10. Nate, all of us here at Team Bartilucci H.Q. are absolutely thrilled for you! Beaucoup congratulations on being accepted into Tisch at NYU! My brother went to NYU and loved it. You're going to wow 'em as a director, I just know it! Hope you'll still have time to blog now that you're a college man, but even if you don't, we'll be rooting for you from the sidelines. I look forward to the day when I can point to a poster advertising one of your films and say, "Hey, I know that guy!" Good luck, Nate! (Incidentally, our daughter was born in NYU Tisch Medical Center. In the hospital, I watched TCM for the very first time. :-))

I have NO intentions of stopping my blogging. And it warms my soul to know that people like you are encouraging me and cheering for me. It will be a long, bitter road...but it is one that I am looking forward to!

    God bless!

  12. I wish you the very best in film school Nathaniel, even if you hated UNCLE BOONME! Ha!

Just kidding, as I was on the other side of the coin with Tarantino's INGLORIOUS BASTERDS, which like BOONME was hailed as a staggering masterpiece by just about everyone. The beauty about film or any other art form is that personal percaptions and taste don't always conform.

    Good luck.

  13. Many thanks, my friend!

The most anyone in the film industry can hope for is that in some small way their work affects at least one person.

  14. May your cuts be artistic and your endings make sense. Whatever you do, don't be the next Uwe Boll or Michael Bay.

Congrats and feel free to vent here during your time at NYU. Just remember to forgive your professors when they misinterpret films like thinking the bear in The Exterminating Angel represents the Soviets and Broderick playing in a video arcade in WarGames is a reference to the beginnings of cinema. They know not what they do.

    Aw....ambiguous endings are more fun!

But thank you for your encouragement! I'll try not to let the professors tell me how to interpret things that are better left alone.

  16. Actually I meant that the ending makes sense given the material leading up to it. Like the difference between the correct ending of The Last Laugh and the actual ending that we are told, in the film, is being tacked on.

I love ambiguous endings, you can always pick a fight with a film lover by asking them if Shane is alive at the end and then taking the opposing viewpoint.

  17. Or another famous ambiguous ending......

    Was "Inception" all Cobb's dream?

    DUN DUN DUUUNNNNN!!!

  18. Congrats~! I'm a bit jealous, in a good way.

When do you start? Hit me up when you do.

  19. Thanks, man!

Hopefully I start in late August, early Septmeber!

Don't worry...I'll keep everyone updated via this blog!
